About Us
Angola Physical Therapy opened its doors in 1998. Founder Sean K. McGarrity, Doctor of Physical Therapy, is a lifelong resident of Angola. Says Dr. McGarrity, “It is most gratifying to be in a position to serve so many of my neighbors and fellow residents of this community. I am truly grateful.”
Angola Physical Therapy is a member of the Evans-Brant Chamber of Commerce, and was chosen by The Chamber as the Small Business of the Year in 2008. The community serves as home for Dr. McGarrity and his four children, who have kept him busy serving as a Cub Scout leader, soccer coach, and Travel Soccer Coordinator for the Lake Shore Youth Soccer Association. “Coaching allows me to use my background in sports performance, conditioning, and biomechanics in an athletic setting where injuries can be prevented. Also, it’s a really fun way of giving something back to this community!”
Dr. McGarrity began practicing Physical Therapy in 1988, having completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Daemen College. His clinical practice and continuing education have focused on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, however his work experience has included stints as Director of Rehabilitation Services in a geriatric setting, staff therapist in the acute hospital setting, and work in the home PT setting. This range of experiences over a span of 24 years has provided the opportunity to work with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurologic diagnoses.
Ashley Needham, PT, DPT, is a 2012 graduate of Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y. Dr. Needham interned at Angola Physical Therapy, where she completed with distinction Daemen College’s clinical outpatient orthopedic requirement. Because of her outstanding work as an intern, she was asked to remain after matriculation, and has been an instrumental addition to the staff.
Physical Therapist Assistant Kristen has over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. She is a graduate of Villa Maria’s PT Assistant Program, and her continuing education has emphasized soft tissue mobilization and massage. She is dedicated to her profession and her patients.
Kathi, our office receptionist, has extensive experience in the field of medical office management and insurance policies and procedures. She is expertly qualified to help with all insurance and payment issues that may arise.
All staff are closely tied to this community, and take pride in the role they play in providing the highest quality care to their neighbors.
